About Sean Alger

Sean Alger Hi, My name is Sean but you can call me "S.B.". I've been doing artsy things for as long as I can remember. I've been drawing and painting and sculpting and singing and dancing and playing instruments for decades now. I'm 45. Art makes me feel like I'm 11 again. I love it! It keeps me alive and healthy. It "makes my soul grow", as Kurt Vonnegut might say. Here on FAA you'll find a selection of my digital works. I typically start with a photo... And then I start processing and manipulating it until I get the effects I like. Like Vibrant colors--or--beautiful patterns--or--"just that thing". That thing that no one can describe but just screams "YES!" to me. Sometimes I'll draw a piece from scratch with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus. (I love this phone, cuz it's got the pressure sensitive stylus) Or sometimes I'll draw with pen or pencil on paper, and then shoot a quick photo and start the artistic process that way. I would call myself a "Digital Mixed Media Artist" and an "Inner-Visionary Artist". "Inner-visionary" because I am praying and meditating when I create my works. I'm talking to God and the Holy Spirit. Sometimes I can't get the effect quite right unless I blur my eyes a bit... Or Hold my phone half-upside-down and way off to the side. I fall into a trance. My hearing shuts off half-way... Like when you're reading a good book. "Digital Mixed Media" because I'll use 2-3 apps or more... And stack all the layers together. Or start the piece--and print it and draw on top of that--and then re-photograph it and keep going with my manipulations and post processings from there. I was thinking of what to say here next--but--I think that's enough from me for now. if you google "S.B. Alger", you can find the various portals that lead to "me" on the interwebs. Please send me a message sometime if you have a question or a comment about anything you see me doing. Thanks! -sb
